I’m a gaming influencer – and this AI-powered phone camera is changing the way I create content
From fixing low-light environments to removing awkward objects, AI-assisted editing makes content creation so easy that gamer Lewis Edridge can do it on a treadmill

Creating social media content about the latest game releases can feel like a speedrun that never ends. Being one of the first to cover the next big thing is crucial to building an audience, as Lewis Edridge – better known as LewisBlogsGaming – well knows, with his combined total of more than 770,000 followers across social media. That means photo and video captures have to be good enough to share on the first take, and editing is often done on the move between one shoot and the next.
Edridge, 31, got started when a breakup at the tender age of 13 drove him to create a YouTube channel as a creative outlet. “I really enjoyed recording gameplay and doing commentary over it. I uploaded it to YouTube and the clips got increasingly popular, to the point where I signed with a network, started making a bit of money. And then my mum said: ‘You should get a job at a supermarket’, to which I said: ‘Can I just do this instead?’”
In the end, says Edridge, she gave him three months.
Those three months turned into a career that has so far spanned more than 18 years, taken Edridge all over the world and, yes, made him a little bit more money than stacking shelves. But how does he get from idea to upload, and what keeps him ahead of the game?
What equipment do gaming content creators need today?
Like any tech-powered career, Edridge’s process has changed a lot over time. “I’ve changed absolutely everything,” he says, “all the equipment’s changed. The more successful you get, the higher quality gear you want to use, it makes everything more professional.”
To that end, Edridge spent some time with the new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, the top model in the new S Series line-up. Crammed with leading-edge hardware, the Ultra also offers a suite of AI-assisted, time-saving tools to help you (and your followers) get the most out of it.
How AI video editing tools save time for creators
Besides the “insane” camera, Edridge is a fan of Auto Trim, a powerful feature of the Photo Assist1 tool that automatically edits your videos down to all killer, no filler.
“Auto Trim is fantastic,” he says. “When I’m out at events, I’m capturing loads of B-roll and it just saves me so much time. Say I’ve got my main video, I’m talking to camera, and then over the top I want to splice in some B-roll. I’ve taken five clips and I’ve got 10 seconds to fill. Auto Trim will automatically trim the best parts down to 10 seconds. I can save it and put it straight on to the video.”
How AI audio tools remove background noise from videos
Similarly, Edridge uses the Audio Eraser2 tool – “probably more than I should”, he says. This feature uses AI to detect six types of distracting background sound – including crowd noise, wind and music – and seamlessly edits it out. And now, helpfully, it even works in third-party apps.
“I live in an area where there’s a lot of traffic outside,” says Edridge. “It’s so good at cutting out that external noise. I was at an event the other day, filming content using the phone with loads of people around – Audio Eraser2 instantly cut out that external noise, to just me. It makes everything so much more professional.”
How AI tools remove unwanted objects from photos and thumbnails
While the term “gaming influencer” might sound like Edridge spends his life at an LED-spangled desktop computer, his hectic schedule – split between acting and content creation – means his life is a lot easier if he can edit on the move.
“I do the majority of my editing on a phone,” he says. “I’m always on the train, or I go to the gym and edit on the treadmill. I don’t like the thought of sitting down and editing for an hour, I’ve got to get my steps in!”
When it comes to the gym, an added bonus of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the IP68 water resistance rating means it’s hopefully safe from sweat showers.
The Photo Assist1 feature that Edridge finds handiest for spontaneous edit is the built-in AI tool that removes awkward or accidental inclusions in a photo, leaving no trace. “It’s invaluable for trying to make [video] thumbnails the most professional they can be,” he says. “If there’s someone in the background, say a dog – I love dogs but if I don’t want it in the thumbnail, I can just zoom in, circle the dog and it’ll accurately cookie-cutter and remove it. Using the stylus it’s incredibly clean, and perfect every time. Sorry, dog.”
How to edit content in public without privacy concerns
We’ve all been guilty of reading someone’s screen over their shoulder on public transport, and editing your own content where strangers might see it seems even more toe-curling than that.
“Oh my goodness, that’s a shocker,” Edridge laughs. “That is a fear of being a content creator, when someone sees you editing your face. It’s quite embarrassing. I got stopped on the train the other day because I was editing a video, they went: ‘Are you famous or something?’ – oh no!”
Edridge says that hasn’t been a problem since he got the Galaxy S26 Ultra, due to its built-in Privacy Display3. The feature limits side-viewing angles to thwart prying eyes.
“I hate putting screen protectors on my phone,” he explains, “so it’s good having the privacy display and being able to adjust those levels to maximum – I don’t want anyone to see what I’m editing! Maybe I’ve just done something under an NDA, it’s nice not to have someone over my shoulder.”
How did he handle it with his previous phone, I ask?
“I put my hat on.”
Eldridge finds the stylus useful for editing: ‘It’s incredibly clean, and perfect every time.’
1. Requires network connection and Samsung account login. A visible watermark is overlaid on the saved image to indicate it was generated by Galaxy AI. Accuracy of output not guaranteed.
2. Samsung account login required. Six types of sound can be detected; voices, music, wind, nature, crowd and noise. Results may vary depending on audio source & condition of the video. Network connection required to be used on supported apps.
3. Requires manual activation in settings to function. Privacy Display feature is not AI-powered.
