The San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has pleaded no contest to two criminal charges after being arrested in Ohio over the weekend.

KRON4 News in San Francisco reported that York was initially arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution but that count was amended to a charge of disorderly conduct. He was also charged with possessing criminal tools.

A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but the defendant in question does accept the punishment for the alleged crimes in question. York was sentenced to a day in jail for each count and fined a total of $1,150. The arrest report does not specify what the criminal tools were in York’s case.

According to KRON4 News, York was arrested at a trailer park in in East Palestine, Ohio on Sunday morning. The East Palestine Police Department and the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force were involved in the arrest. York, 46, was born and raised in Youngstown, a 30-minute drive from East Palestine and he still has a home in the area.

York is the nephew of former 49ers majority owner Edward J DeBartolo Jr. York became CEO of the 49ers in 2008 and, after acquiring his mother’s shares, became the team’s principal owner in 2024. He also owns stakes in the Premier League’s Leeds United and Scotland’s Rangers through 49ers Enterprises.
